Beyond Book Talking: Whole Library Promotion (1 hour)
Every library employee has heard someone say they didn’t know the library offered something, whether it’s a program, service, or any of the dozens of things we provide on a daily basis. Libraries can better spread the word when they realize that promotion and advocacy aren’t secluded to the marketing staff, but is part of everyone’s job. Learn how to engage your staff at all levels and prepare them with the tools to “book talk” your library and services to boost access, circulation, and attendance.
Includes an interactive discussion on cross promotion of services, collections, and programs.
Booktalking and Beyond: Readers’ Advisory and Whole Library Promotion (1.5 hours)
This is a combination of the previous two programs.

Then, expand on those skills to promote the library as a whole, using readers’ advisory techniques to promote programs, services, and collections. Learn how to engage your staff at all levels and prepare them with the tools to “book talk” your library and services to boost access, circulation, and attendance throughout the library.
